Nigel Atkinson has been fascinated by the natural world since he was a small boy. Growing up exploring his local environment and watching the likes of Jacques Cousteau explore the worlds oceans on T.V. It would only be a matter of time before he himself would embark on his own journey of exploration.
Photography became a passion in 1992, having been originally frustrated at not being able to convey natures beauty to friends, family and a wider audience.
He has travelled to five of the worlds severn continents in pursuit of studying and exploring the natural world and has had highly commended images in competitions such as Natures Best.
His images have been published in a wide range of magazines, and have been used in both the private and commercial world, for a mixture of uses from promotional work to artistic prints for both corporate and private markets.
He now lives in Scotland on the shores of the world famous Loch-Ness and has a young family.
He is currently working on a 5 year project about the Great Glen in Scotland.
